Once you have registered your FIDO2 key with Crowdin, the key will be ready to be used as an authentication method when accessing your account.

Register your FIDO2 key in your Crowdin account

Before you can use your FIDO2 key as an access method for your Crowdin account you will need to register the key with Crowdin using the following procedure;

  • Log in to your Crowdin Account, then click on you account icon, then click on "Settings" (see example below);

    In the "Account Settings" section, scroll down to "Authenticator app", then click ;


    At the prompt "Security Key Name:" provide a name that relates to the Fido2 key you will be using, insert you FIdo2 key into an available USB port, then click ;


    You will now be presented with a number of Fido2 authentication options for your passkey, insert your Fido2 key into a USB port, select the optoin "Security key" then click ;


    After selecting the security key option you will be notified that the security key is being set up, click ;


    You will then be asked to confirm your intention, click ;


    Now you will be asked permission for crowdin to create a passkey that can be used to authenticate user access, click ;


    You are then asked to touch the security key - press the button on the Fido2 key;


    Finally you are notified that the passkey has been saved;


    The details of your newly created passkey will be shown;

Signing in to an Crowdin account with a FIDO2 key

Once you have registered you FIDO2 key with Crowdin the key will be ready to be used as an authentication method when accessing your account;

  • Log in to your Crowdin Accountand you will asked to select a two-factor authentication method, click on the option ;

    Insert you Fido2 key into an available USB port then select "Security Key", then click ;


    You will now be prompted to enter the PIN code for your Fido2 key.

    At the prompt "Security Key PIN", enter the PIN code, then click 

    (in the case of a Fido key with a fingerprint reader you will need to swipe your finger on the key);


    You are now prompted to touch the key (to prove you are present and giving permission for the key to be used).

    Touch the necessary area on your Fido key;


    Once you have touched the Fido key you will be prompted to specify if you stay logged in to your account;

    After selecting one of the above options you will be logged in to your Crowdin portal.
