New Features
Q: What are the new features in DualShield 6?
A: Following are the key new features in DualShield 6:
- Localization: DualShield 6 supports international languages
- Customization: DualShield provides more flexible and convenient UI customization which will survive future upgrades
- Deepnet Authenticator: A new innovative MFA authentication app that delivers an unified MFA experience across devices and operating systems.
Data Retention
Q: If I upgrade my DualShield 5 server to DualShield 6, will I lose any data?
A: The only data that you will lose is the SSO cosmetic customization files and text, if you have customized your DualShield SSO login UI. See below. All other data will not be affected. Having said that, it is still highly recommeded that you should back up your DualShield server prior to upgrade by taking a snapshot of the virtual machine of your DualShield server.
SSO Customisation
Q: We did some cosmetic customization to our current version of DualShield SSO server. Will those customized adjustments be lost?
A: I am afraid your customizations will be lost in the upgrade process. DualShield 6 has a new SSO server which can be customized more easily and its customization will be retained in the future upgrades. However, if you prefer to continue using the legacy SSO server after upgrading, then you must backup your customization files prior to upgrading, then restore them after upgrading.
In-Place Upgrade
Q: Can I upgrade my DualShield server over its current installation?
A: Yes, you can upgrade your DualShield 5 server to DualShield 6 directly on top of its currently installation.
Client & Agent Software
Q: If I upgrade my DualShield 5 server software to DualShield 6, do I also have to upgrade all of my DualShield agents and clients software?
A: If your DualShield Agents and Clients are 5.9.8 or later, then you will not need to upgrade them after you have upgraded your DualShield server. However, if your DualShield Agents and Clients are older than 5.9.8, then you will have to upgrade them. Otherwise, some functions might stop working.
