Emergency Codes may be self-administered by the users provided the feature has been enabled in the Self-Service Policy.
Once enabled, and after logging in to the service console, users can use the option "Emergency Codes" to self-administer emergency codes;
Enabling the Emergency Code feature
To allow your users to self administer emergency codes using the service console perform the following procedure;
In order to edit the policy settings for the self-service console, log in to the management console, then navigate to "Administration | Policies", click on the Category "Self-Service", then click the button;
Left click on the context menu of the self service policy , then select "Edit";
A new window will open titled "Policy - Edit", expand the sections "Emergency Access Service";
In order for you to allow users to self administer emergency codes using the Dualshield Service Console you will need to ensure that the checkbox "Allow user to request emergency code:" is selected.
After selecting this option click and the policy will be updated.
Managing Emergency Codes using the Service Console
Once the user has navigated to the Emergency Code section, codes may be generated, sent to the users' email or deleted (examples below).
Log in to the service console, select the menu option "Emergency Codes", then click on the button;
After clicking on the button you will be asked how many emergency codes are needed;
For this example we will select 2 codes (by increasing the count to 2, then clicking ).
The requested number of Emergency codes are then generated and presented to the user.
After an Emergency code has been created it can be sent to the users account by selecting the menu option "Emergency Codes", then select the code to be sent, then click on the button;
A confirmation message should be presented stating that the emergency code has been sent to the email account.
